Day 30 Hay on Wye

It was, surprisingly, a fine day today, with a completely blue sky when we woke up.  It clouded over a bit later but no rain.  A pleasant change.

We had a new year breakfast at Booths bookshop in Hay this morning, which was very nice.

We then headed out to Symonds Yat Rock, in the Forest of Dean on the borders of Herefordshire and Gloucestershire.   The rock overlooks a spectacular gorge the River Wye flows through.  We also walked for an hour or so through the surrounding forest.  It was very muddy underfoot, but good to be able to get out in the country.  It is obviously a very popular holiday destination, with all sorts of accommodation nearby.

Gunner enjoying the view
